For almost 20 years, HWF has been supporting the most vulnerable children and families on the Thai-Myanmar border, helping them to access vital education, health and protection services.
But the conflict in Myanmar that has intensified since the military coup in 2021 has pushed these services to their limit. Schools are full, accreditation pathways have been cut, and returning home to Myanmar has become more difficult and dangerous.
Our new school - Rays of Hope - is named for the opportunity it provides to displaced Myanmar children to create a future here in Thailand. With your support, this project will help these children to integrate into Thai society - through language, learning, and skills development - opening up opportunities in further education, safe and secure employment, and the development of their communities.
Migrant communities are an asset, not a burden. The Rays of Hope school will unlock the potential of migrant and displaced children to contribute to Thai society and build a brighter future for themselves and their communities.

HWF has taken important first steps in the establishment of the Rays of Hope project. Site and building designs have been created and finalised; land for the school site has been bought; and discussions are underway with local community leaders to gain collaborative support for the project.
The next steps - following the formal registration process, and constructing the school buildings - will take place in tandem. Fundraising efforts are now underway to raise support for the construction costs. This catalogue breaks down the funding needed for the different structures of the Rays of Hope school - each of which are crucial for the school to be able to offer a safe and comfortable learning environment for the children.
By supporting at this stage of the Rays of Hope project, you will be one of the foundational pillars ensuring that the dream of this school becomes a reality. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of vulnerable children on the border, helping them to pave the way to a brighter future for themselves and their communities.
